Ultrasound is a non-invasive technique that is used to diagnose what is happening in the body, based on images that the device is taking. By means of sound waves ─hence its name─, which are above the human threshold, it emits frequencies in which the images of the body’s organs are recreated.
Ultrasounds, in general, are placed on the patient’s skin to diagnose the state of the organs; however, there are some that can be located inside the body, such as those that are made of the digestive tract, vaginal or blood vessels.
